Upload File to Retrieve Taxonomy Information
Usage Instructions
Upload a .txt or .csv file containing scientific names, one name per line. TaxScraper retrieves taxonomy information from NCBI and prepares one ZIP file.
- missingTaxonomyInfo.csv — standardized taxonomy information.
- speciesToRetry.txt — names that could not be retrieved.
- taxscraperDebugLog.txt — processing notes and timing statistics.
Version 3.7.0 processes one species at a time, retries temporary NCBI ESearch and EFetch errors (up to 3 attempts each with increasing wait intervals), uses synonym-aware broad search, and applies NCBI Datasets v2 API partial-name epithet recovery only when full-name broad search returns zero candidates. Maximum supported submission size: 200 species per job.
